Any Massachusetts teachers that can offer advice?

Of course any ideas from teachers in other states would be appreciated as well.

I'm just wondering if there are any teachers in Massachusetts that can offer some insight into the hiring process. I check school spring for any possible openings but is there something else I should be doing? In the past I've seen schools in Sept. list new hires that were not already in the school system but I never saw the actual positions posted. That's why I'm wondering if there's something else I should be doing other than watching and waiting for a job to be posted that I can apply for. In the past I tried emailing my info. to principals ahead of time inquiring about possible future openings but I never had any luck with that.
Thanks

I work in an urban district. We use Schoolspring and I don't know of any other platform.

I will say that this year, everything is delayed! Internal transfers just happened and openings are slowly being posted. I feel we're about 6-8 weeks behind.
