Do you think supermarkets will ever return to using recyclable bags?

Also, we are still charged recycling fees when we purchase soda even though the state no longer refunds those fees. Doesn't seem right.

Where I live, we put all of the food right back in the cart, take it to the car and bag it up there. Thank god, because I was drowning in plastic and paper bags!

I wonder about the whole issue of recycling as well. I think someone needs to do a study of just where the waste comes from. I recently received one roll of washi tape in a large padded envelope from Amazon. I also wonder if door deliveries is using up a lot more gas than people batching errands and going to a central source.

Great idea! I am going to suggest this to the place I buy groceries. However, DH is the grocery shopper right now.

We bag our own, the grocery stores are fine with that!

I keep a supply of bags in the back of my car and I bag the groceries and even the Costco run when I get to the car. Since Covid we can no longer bring bags into the store.

Here you can still use your own bags if you bag your own groceries.

We have the option to take them in and bag everything ourselves. They go straight to the wash after the weekly shop.

I do what a few others posted-bag in my car. We can't bring in bags, and I don't need more plastic bags. Plus I'm in an apt and it's a lot easier to get bags from my car to my apt with my reusable ones.

We used to have baggers, but they relocated them to other parts of the store and we have to bag ourselves. So the checker scans, but then we don't have an additional person touching the items. So I just put them all back in the cart and take them out to my car and bag there. Particularly useful for the cold stuff as I have insulated bags and a bit of a car ride. Nice in the summer.
