My room is tiny. See those blue doors? In order to keep our social distancing, half of my class is supposed to be out in that room. At all times. Working independently. They are kindergartners. Yes, the doors open, but in order for me to see everyone I need to stand in the doorway. Yep - lots of teaching going to be happening this year.

That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard in my life. Our district has its issues, but that isn't going to one of them. That is crazy!

What do you mean. I don't see any problem with that. "Just teach them your expectations!" To be clear, I am being hugely sarcastic.

In all seriousness, I wish people who set these expectations would carry them out for us. Even for just one day!

If you had a class of model citizens, you might get away with something like that. But you know, when something happens who is going to be responsible.

I could probably get away with it in January. But the beginning of school? No way! We don't even let them in there for the first 6 weeks or so!

It is so horrible to think that adults and children are so expendable. I would immediately remove the doors and demolish some walls.

I'm just hoping that the government publishes NEW guidelines that actually consider the age of the children we will be teaching.
