Does anyone know where I can purchase or download the alphabet picture cards that you would use to introduce a new phonemic sound to the kids? To give you an example, the letter would be on the card and there would be a picture that begins with that sound. I would need the Zanner Bloser font if at all possible. I have looked at a lot of the teacher sites and haven't found any yet. Thanks in adavance.

I bought a set at Lakeshore I like. They are big, like the Open Court sound cards and have a glossy photograph. I like the desk strips you can purchase to go with them as well.

You can also have your students make them. I've done that with kids as little as pre-k. It is time consuming and you'll probably have to do a bit of doctoring to get them to look good. However, you could provide pre-cut magazine pictures for the kids to choose from or clip art to look at while they draw, which would speed the process immensely.
