Everyone seems so excited to go back...
I just don't feel it this year!
My classroom is nowhere near ready....

I went in today for the first time and I'm just not excited. My room is a mess. People wanted to know how the summer went. Maybe I'm depressed but I'm not excited at all about school starting. I don't have much time to get an attitude adjustment.

AMEN! This is the second year that I am not feeling it. It is probably because yet again I am not teaching what I want and the school is in an upheavel- again. Also, this is the third year that our school is under construction. We were supposed to get into the building last Thursday, which we did, but oddly enough the building is closed again until this Thursday. There are many teachers who haven't had their belongings moved yet. I unpacked half of my 45 boxes last Thursday, but it is a disaster. We officially come back Sept 1 and our new interim principal is planning on making us suffer through meetings for 3 days. He doesn't seem to get that having your room complete when the kids come in is so important. SO STRESSED OUT!

Glad I'm not the only one... lets see what I get done today...
Today is my last day before PD starts- doubt we will get time then..
Then the kids on Tuesday- hopefully their smiling faces will change my attitude..

I'm so not feeling it this year. I feel guilty about it, am forcing myself to go through the motions, but I'm really just not caring a whole lot. It's not so much that I want to stay on break, just that I am dreading the whole beginning of the year hoopla.

Today is my first day with coworkers in a month. (We are doing a Habitat building day in honor of a coworker's husband who passed last year. He was the director of our local Habitat.) Maybe they'll have some extra enthusiasm to rub off on me?

I actually have decided to cope with the fact that it's time to head back...and THEN we find out that our building has had a huge MOLD outbreak! Teachers report on Monday, with PD planned for us all day Mon., Tues., and Wed. morning. Open House is scheduled for Wed. afternoon and we can't even get into our rooms yet. If it isn't one thing, it's the other. Grrrr...
