Project Funded on Donors Choose!

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I found out about donorschoose.org through this site back in June. I submitted two projects and had long since forgotten all about them. Imagine my surprise when I checked my email last week and had an email saying that one of my projects had been funded!!! YAY! I was so excited, and I can't wait to get the books I had requested and take pictures and have my kids write the thank you letters!

I just wanted to share my good news!

CONGRATULATIONS! One of our teachers was funded, too. I have signed up for Donors Choose, but have not made a proposal. I need to get to work.

Aashley,
How exciting!

Are you familiar with the organization or person who is funding your submitted project? I'm curious as to how the projects are noticed by others.

I had problems getting signed in, so I gave up. There really isn't anything I'm needing right now--maybe a new school building?

Enjoy your gift!

How can it be?

How can you not be needing anything right now. I am in a school building only 4 years old, and we are in great need of supplies. I have had 2 projects funded through DonorsChoose. When you think of supplies that you need, you should definitely try it again.

I called my project "Math Library". It was just nine math-themed children's books that I wanted. I have no clue who funded it...some wonderful woman named Beverly from VA (I live in KY).

It is an awesome site! I really recommend signing up and submitting a proposal if you haven't already!

Thank you for posting about this. When I first heard about Donors Choose through a "friendly" school wide e-mail from someone we had never heard of I thought is was a little creepy. People give you stuff and all you have to do in return is give PICTURES of your kids. I was VERY skeptical. But seeing it here made me want to research it more. Now I see that it can work and that it is not the weird guy down the street soliciting pictures.

No funding here either

I had two projects, but neither were funded. The first one was over $600, but the second was just over $200. I wonder what happens when you use the last point you have to submit a proposal and it doesn't get funded? The only way to earn more points is to have previous proposals funded.

I think it is a great organization, but I am frustrated that I may not be able to submit any more proposals.
