Clip to ScrapBook #2

We do a skill a month and this month is Plot Development. We have questions that we ask for each reading selection to keep the focus on the skill taught. During a reading the students fill out a tree map thinking map with character, setting, problem, and solution. After the reading they summarize what they read by answering plot questions. The questions are: What problem did the character face? Did the character change from the beginning of the story to the end? What made the character change. What events in the story lead to the change in the character? That is the jist of the questions at least. It really does keep them focused on the story and gives them a purpose for reading.
Hope this helps

blueyz24, Thank you for your suggestion. I have done things similar but not quite like this. Your idea is a little more specific. Maybe this will help my strugglers.
