Help! If anyone has read my recent post. I have been assigned to teach 3rd grade resource reading and math as of now, maybe science and social studies later. Who knows? But for now, I would like to know how to set up my third grade centers for reading and math. For reading, I will have 8 students for now. And for math only 3. I am not sure how that would work with 2 or 3 students. Anyway, please help, especially with the reading. Thanks!

Thanks for your help! It would be funny if I ended up with one student for math.

Does your school have Voyager? Also, Reading Plus is great!

It is sad because I really do not know what they have. I do not think they do though. I have one teacher who took me in the media center to show me some things, but we were not able to check anything out. I think they have a lot of remedial books in there. How do you incorporate those reading programs into your teaching? It is weird because here we are supposed to focus on the "standard" so much, when these students need basic reading skills.

I do groups Mon - Thurs. I try to meet with my LOW students everyday.
I like the get Reading Level books to read with my small group. I have each student read 2 sentences out loud. The lower students don't feel confident to read infront of the whole class,so this give them a chance to build some self confidence.

During my centers. I have a group go to the computers and do Reading Plus program and they also do it for home learning.
