This is the most recent quilt I have completed. It's my first time to embroider designs onto quilt blocks. Some of you may have seen it as I posted it on a Photo Friday post not long ago.

I really like your quilt.
I have never seen embroidered images done that way before.
Really nice.

I am guessing you sewed the log cabin blocks together, then did the embroidery once the top was completed followed by sandwiching the quilt etc.
How did you quilt it?
Did you quilt around the embroidered motifs or through them?

The colours are great.
Love the buffalo plaid -- and the attention to detail matching the plaids.

Thanks y'all! I made this for my GS. My daughter chose the fabrics and I made blankets, crib sheets, changing table covers, and curtains from them. Then I used the same fabrics for this quilt.

Peaches Pears I used echo quilting for the embroidery designs. The first one near the satin stitch and one more near the center of each design. And you are right. I first pieced all the blocks of the quilt and then embroidered on top. Then I sandwiched everything together for quilting and binding.

Oh .... echo quilting.
I bet it looks beautiful and makes a cute design element on the backing as well.

Lucky little GS.
