We finished our state testing yesterday. One of the questions on the test required that the students take the information from a bar graph and create a table. Well, one of our kids drew a beautiful kitchen table with silverware, glasses, and put the different fruit mentioned in the bar graph on the plates. They even made a key so the reader would know which fruit was on which plate! Life is fun in 4th grade

This is indeed funny. It reminds me of my niece's story from last year's testing. When asked to draw a model of ... the student drew a runway with a model including high heels, long fingernails, etc.

I saw kids drawing random graphic organizers that we have NEVER used in class, so I have no idea what they were doing. What makes kids do that? You have to laugh but it always makes me think, where have they been all year?? We've done this everyday!

There needs to be a "like" button on these posts like they do in Facebook. Three weeks ago, I had 2 different students act as if they didn't realize we still had reading and math tests to take. I've only talked about it all year and have a countdown going on in class! I wanted to bang my head against the wall!

Love it! Those comments made me put everything into perspective and erased some of the end of the year jitters. Thank you.

I can absolutely see some of my little cherubs do that...I have an incredibly literal and young group this year!

That is too cute. I had a student a couple of years ago raise her hand while taking the test. She said she didn't have enough information to answer the question. It was about how much water would fill up a pitcher and she said it all depended on how thirsty he was.
