Hi,
I made these cards to use while remediating some of my third graders that need more practice with place value.

Here are some ideas of how I plan to use these.

1) Just read the numbers--many need practice with this. (I would not use the expanded form cards, just the standard form cards)
2) Say the place value of the underlined digit (standard form cards)
3) Say the value of the underlined digit (standard form cards)
4) Match standard form to expanded form
5) Write standard form for expanded form cards (expanded form cards only)

Any other ideas of how these could be used?

I'm posting the pdf in this post, but I will post the ppt file in a second post in case anyone wants to make changes.

I find so many wonderful task cards and other ideas on here, it is nice to return the favor, so I hope someone finds these useful.

My 2nd graders need to work on place value - but not with those larger numbers - It was so easy to make the changes I needed to use these with my kids next week in math groups. Thanks again!!

These are fabulous. We just tested this skill on Friday but these will definitely be retested on our state test. Another way these could be used is
1) by rounding the underlined digit to the nearest hundred or thousand.
2) organize the numbers from least to greatest.
Thanks a bunch for your hard work!

Thanks for generously sharing your work with us. I'll use them as informal assessment "checks" in small groups.

The chance to edit the cards is fabulous. Teachers on many grade levels can use these.

This is a skill even my fourth graders struggle with and I think these will be a great way for them to practice and review place value without being bored to death! Thanks!
