I am optimistic that it might be good. I enjoyed Frasier back in the day ans still watch the reruns. I will be curious as to how they handle the premise of the show. Any interest?
I have watched Frasier reruns and enjoyed them, not sure how I feel about the re-boot. The father was the funniest and John Mahoney died. It would be interesting to see what happened to all the characters.
Let me guess... An injured Frasier moves in with his now adult son to recover. Antics follow, including an close friendship between adult son (Frederick?) and Nile's young adult son. Daphne and Nile's teenaged daughter will be a wacky character, who is coincidentally best friends with Roz's daughter.
I absolutely loved Frasier and still watch the reruns. They have held up well and are just as funny now as they were then. That said, I think a revival is a bad idea. Without John Mahoney and Eddie, it won't be the same. The thing that worked the best about the original show was how vastly different Frasier and Niles were from their father. I just don't see a reboot working.
I never watched the original. However, I know from Real Housewives (see, my taste in TV is super classy ) that Kelsey Grammer is a major jerk. Kind of ruins the appeal for me. I'm sure lots of other actors are too, and I just don't know about them. But now any time I see him that's all I think about!
Song of Joy, Frazier has to be injured because that was why HIS dad moved in with him! Obviously, Frazier wasnt a cop so he'll have to have been a victim of some kind of accident.
I love hearing all the possibilities of Frasier's future. I'm actually watching a Frasier rerun right now. I'm not sure how I'll like a revival since the original was so well orchestrated. It will be interesting to how it all works out.
But with Frazier maybe more so. I really liked the show back in the day but it went on for too many seasons. Off the top of my head I’m thinking at least two seasons too long. They ran out of good ideas and tried to fix with a string of characters.
Frasier is one of my most favorite shows ever, but I agree that Kelsey Grammer seems to be a major jerk (back then too). John Mahoney was my favorite and I’m not sure I want to see the show without him. I also loved the Daphne and Niles characters. I don’t think I ever enjoy reboots.
ETA: I just saw Hifiman’s avatar. The Office...maybe someday, with good writing, an Office reboot would work. Some kind of reunion show, like a company picnic. Creed will be ancient and still play guitar and join Andy and Darrell gigging for the event.
I don't even want to see a reboot for that. I've always felt like shows run their course and retire for a reason. Personally I like the way The Office ended. Parks and Rec also had a really good ending. Seinfeld...no it's still too raw to talk about that abysmal finale.
I find most reboots are awful. I watched one episode of Murphy Brown. It was awful. I also tried the Mad About You reboot. I really liked the original but Helen Hunt is just irritating in the reboot.
I also loved Mad About You and just found a reboot on Prime. It is awful.

Bummer ! I just heard the reboot is on Prime, and I'm rewatching the original series to build up to it. I think Helen Hunt got irritating in general as an actress after she made it big. I love Paul Reiser- he was a major crush for me when I was younger (My Two Dads, Mad About You...) I ran across "Married" on Netflix or something and was surprised to see him in there.

I wasn't a fan of the original, and the reboot wasn't any better. I watched Will and Grace and didn't hate it, but I didn't like it as much as the original. But I do like the Conners more (much more than Roseanne reboot).
