I am new to teaching grammar. Any good resources for teachers, teaching us how to teach grammar. What resources do you use?

2G8TKids can you repost this web address, please? I had a grade level meeting this afternoon and much of it was to discuss just his topic. I would love to be able to investigate this further.

This is a video I made last year to demonstrate how my students use their knowledge of grammar to analyze a sentence.

http://youtu.be/Cscnx_3pGEc

It's called Parts of Speech in a Sentence.

It might give you some ideas. My students like getting up and reasoning out the parts of speech, parts of a sentence, phrases, type of sentence, and sentence structure.

We use Shurley Grammar, and it is great for learning the parts of speech, how they relate to each other in a sentence, and how to classify the parts. Shurley also covers topics such as point of view, making nouns plural, subject-verb agreement, verb tenses, and different types of sentences in addition to much more. There is a writing component to it, but it is not my favorite.

I also use Daily Editing Paragraph by Evan Moor, but I use grade 6 for my fifth graders. It has non-fiction pieces that are split into four separate days with a focus for each day on a particular editing skill. Not only do they practice editing skills and the rules behind the different marks, but they get exposed to some interesting information. Surprisingly, my kids really love it.

No Glamour Grammar by Suzanna Mayer Watt is another resource I use. It is a very simple approach with plenty of worksheets for practice that are simply designed and are very helpful for students who struggle.
