I wonder why Beyonce's outfit had to be so revealing and the dance moves so suggestive. We were practically in stripper territory there! I kept hoping she wouldn't have a wardrobe malfunction. I don't consider myself a prude, but I don't think that type of clothes or dancing is appropriate for prime time and an event where many kids are watching. I did post earlier today about turning 40 this year, so maybe I'm just getting old!
I am a prude. The entire time I was thinking about the conversation I had with my sixth graders about what dance moves are considered suggestive. I know most of them were watching. But I'm not a Beyonce fan to start with.
DH was commenting on how good she was. I agreed that she did a good job but that outfit was not really necessary. I know she was covered in the front but the impression of being cut down to the navel is what sticks with our young who idolize people like that. I am glad my boys are boys, for one. and also grown enough that I don't have to worry about her! I would not want to be a parent of a young teen who looks up to that image.
I said the same thing. She's talented and beautiful, but I get tired of the pelvic thrusts, touching herself, licking lips, etc.. I don't watch her sing in person much (TV) so I forgot that it's more show than singing. It was frustrating because I like some of her songs.
Yeah, and the throwing off of several pieces of clothing was a little ridiculous.
austeach, I am with you. Beyonce has been wearing outfits like that for years, no need to change now. Millions of people, including the First Lady tweeted how much they loved her performance and how talented she was and proud of her. She is in her early thirties and most of her fans are teens and young adults. She has always been know as a sexy, but classy performer.
I, too, liked the show. I did wonder if she was a singer or dancer at first (lol), but I liked the performance and the effects. And having Destiny's Child back together for even just a few brief minutes was awesome.
I DID wish she had a little bit more on, and did with a bit fewer hip and hair shakes, but with what I've seen on some of the more recent half-time shows I thought it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Overall, I approved.
Am I the only one who noticed how covered Michelle was and how absolutely stunning she looked? Still black, tight and leathery, but with a tiny little skirt that left a little something to the imagination.
I had 13 kids at my house just waiting for this and I was so uncomfortable watching it. My BIL actually had to leave the room! I know it's not just for the kids, but for entertainment, but someone needs to remember to make it at least PG-13.....not that I even know where that would be at this point.
