Homework Check-in app

Does anyone know of an app (or something similar) to check in homework (or even tests/quizzes). Something that shows Absent which then can show that the student turned it in the day they returned. Would also like it to have something for a "Fix and Return" and missing assignment.

We (classroom teacher and I, the aide) are currently using a paper chart but that gets filled up and confusing. We have check marks and A's (for absent), then FR's (for fix returns) and check marks over those FR's.

If there's no app, what do you use to check this all in?

Thanks!

Hi there! Welcome to PT and our second grade board.

I am retired now, but always just used a printed spreadsheet and a pencil. When students turned homework in on time, I marked it with a checkmark. Otherwise, I left the box blank. If it was turned in later, I'd make a checkmark with a circle around it.

I don't know of any apps for that, although I wonder if ClassDojo could work.

I have started using a spreadsheet (actually google sheet). I color code my entries and share it with parents so they can see what is getting checked in.

Kind of bulky, but works.

I'm with Glacierose. An "accountant" sheet with every kid's name on it. Check if the brought it in, o if they didn't, ab if absent. Takes less than 5 minutes.

I even make little slips with everyone's name and assignment name on it and the kids come up and highlight their name and the slip when they turn in an assignment. This helps cut down on the no-name papers I get turned in.
