Retro Theme

I am thinking ahead for my theme for next year. I like to get started before school lets out. I really want to do a retro theme because the kids are so into the peace sign stuff. Does anyone have any ideas, photos, resources, etc. to help me get ideas together? Anything would really be great. Thanks everyone

Google 60's images. You'll get tons of pictures of 60's things. What you are talking about is more 60's rather than retro.

Another idea is hanging beads as a wall. (to separate sections of the classroom)That was very popular in the 60's Big flowers, bubble letters, etc.

I think this neat and very unique! Kids would love that!

1. Tye-dyed fabric for bulletin boards (you can purchase the kits to dye at Hobby Lobby)
2. Fringe around the boards
3. Psychedelic things for the room/lots of bright/bold colors
4. You could buy mini VW buses (I've seen them before!) and hot glue them around the room.

Check out OrientalTrading.com...they have some really cute things!

I would love to collaborate with you on this. I am switching from 1st grade to 4th next year, and also changing from a Hollywood theme to Retro. I am going to call it "Peace, Love, Fourth Grade" and have found some cute borders and letters at http://www.barkercreek.com/cat.php?va=t&k=58638. Hope to hear from you!

Do you still have your website up that had all of your Hollywood info on it? I remember looking at it last year and you had some great stuff, but it looks like it's not up anymore. Our third grade is doing a Hollywood theme for back to school this fall and I wanted to see if you still had any great resources that we may be able to use.

Sorry I wasn't helpful with ideas for your retro theme - love the idea though!

Thanks for anything you can do to help!
