Help! I could really use some recommendations for math challenges for third graders. I know my principal expects me to differentiate for a child whose parents think he needs to receive extra challenge work next year. I'm not sure if the child is truly gifted or his parents just think he is, but either way, I need to have something in place.

Give a math diagnostic test to determine the level of your students. If this student shows mastery of third grade objectives, then have him/her do the same objectives you are doing with your other students but on the fourth grade level.
