It shouldn't! I do it all the time to mine. At the end of the year, it just peels right off with no residue.

If you want to reuse your border, have it laminated. The glue will peel right off it too!

Thank you for the insight. I will have to try hot glue next year. My magnets did not work out so well. Thanks again

If you don't want to laminate your border, just put tape on the back and then hot glue on the tape. Works great! I put masking tape on mine and then the glue or rolled masking tape-pulls off easily and doesn't rip the border.

What a great tip! I've ruined many a border due to my use of hot glue. I love that stuff. .

I have used it on my whiteboards before (just don't tell my principal ) and it comes off well.
