Door Decoration

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm a 2nd grade teacher looking for something new and different for my classroom door decoration. Last year I had the caption "Miles of Smiles in Room 117". Then I mounted a close-up smiling photo of each student onto a smiley face notepad, and placed those all over the door. Another year the caption read, "These Kids are the Apple of My Eye" and mounted each of their photos onto a sheet of an apple notepad, and placed those all over the door. "Every Day is a Bright and Sunny Day in Room 117" with their photos mounted on sunshines, is another idea. I'd like to follow this same pattern, where there is a caption, and a photo of each student mounted on a themed notepad. Just looking for some other ideas that you've used in the past. Thanks so much!

I love the bright and sunny idea! You could say, Students radiate in room 117.

Puzzle Pieces

Clip to ScrapBook #3

One year I purchased a set of large decorations that were like large puzzle pieces (I got mine from Lakeshore) and I wrote a student's name on each one and put them all over the door with cut out letters that spelled "We All Fit Together!" I liked it because it started the year off on a positive tone of teamwork and community buidling.

I once wrote an agreement on the door: "We all do our best here" and put the children's photographs with their signatures on them.

I saw light bulb post notes. You could use those with We're a Bright Idea. Or they had sunglasses post its at Staples when school started. They would work too.
