Project Based States of Matter-2nd grade

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am a new second grade teacher and am really interested in incorporating project based learning into my classroom. Our first science unit is Changes (States of Matter). I was wondering if anybody had any ideas of how to go about doing this. I'm just not sure how to set it up and let the kids be in charge of learning and then teaching their classmates. I know they need A LOT of structure, especially in the beginning of the year, and it's going to be hard with experiments. I would appreciate ANY ideas

I'm also interested in project based learning, especially for my science and social studies units. But I'm also a little unsure of how to do this! The following website has a lot of plans already made up. I don't think there is one for states of matter, but you can look at some others and it will show you what to think about in setting up a plan. Hope it helps somewhat! I'm in the same boat!

Did you ever come up with a project for state of matter?
