Ok here we go, I'm trying to figure out my theme for my classroom next year. I would like to get some ideas for decorating and Titles for bulletin boards for BUGS or OCEANS. Any ideas are truly appreciated.

My vote is for the ocean. There are several bulletin board sets for this theme. Ocean animals are very appealing to the kids. You can even add a fish tank to your room. Wal-Mart has cool ocean fabric and shower curtains. I also enjoy playing ocean waves when we do writing projects. The kids love researching ocean animals and the effects of pollution. Oriental trade has a cool ocean canopy to use in classrooms as a reading area.

Sailing into a wonderful year of learning!

especially Ladybugs!! I decorated my classroom in ladybugs last year. There is so much ladybug themed stuff out.

"SPOTTED" good work/super spellers/super students

By the end of the year, my students had given me "ladybug" gifts, earrings, drawings, ladybug stuffed animals, etc. I can't wait to do the theme again! (maybe next year)

OK, I am going to just bullet some things that may help you out.
P.S. My kids loved it! 3rd Grade. P.S.S. It was also pretty cheap!
Other than the stuff you find in kits, this is what I had.
-I found fabric at Walmart with AWESOME FISH! I cut them out, dipped them in fabric hardener and glittered them. Alot of work if you want a lot of them.
-I found at a party store a banner that had hanging fish. (Sparkly)
-I had in the back of my room "An Ocean Of Opportunity".
-Writing BB: "Wave Writers"
-I bought a blue water "scene setter"- Looks real!
- I didn't do this, ran out of time, you can order a banner from some of the party places online. They have ocean themes and you can have your name put on them.

OH! Start off the B2S year with a packet of ocean / fish fact fun activity sheets, the rainbow fish and an art activity with the rainbow fish and tissue paper.
Hope this helps!

That was my same decision. I couldn't decide between bugs or oceans either! I went with Oceans. Dollar Tree has TONS of stuff that can go along with that one.

I agree with most of the others. Oceans is the way to go. You can just go on and on into so many areas with that. Have fun and really go all out with the theme. The kids will love it!
