I used a Hollywood Theme my first two years of teaching fourth grade, but I'm going to be teaching kindergarten this year .... I was wanting to use the Hollywood Theme again , but I think that I need something more kindergaten friendly.
I'm thinking about doing a popcorn themed classroom and thought that maybe I could incorporate a carnivla/ amusement park theme as well.
I'm wanting to spend very little money.

I already have the popcorn trimmer from the previous years

I thought this would be a cute bulletin board set to buy

I found ladybug wrapping paper that I laminated and use it to cover my door. Title "Spotted: Kindergardeners" Then I write their names on construction paper. I tape store bought ladybugs to the walls &floor leading them to my classroom. There are lots of easy art project using ladybugs.

Will you be using your theme for the whole year or just in Aug/Sept?

I did a welcome board this year with popcorn. I made a big 3D box of popcorn on my board and had store bought pieces with each kids name on them. I made it look like the box was tipped over and the pieces were falling out. The title was: Look Who's Popping into Mrs. West's Class.
I think the Hollywood theme could be easily used with kdg. they love being STARS!

Welcome to Our Kinder"garden"

Your theme could have bugs, flowers, etc. I'd do it all year long.
