Hello, all ~

I am a literacy specialist for grades 6-8. I have a class of 3 eighth graders who, after completing some work with a children's book, have asked me if they could write a book together and try to get it published! I have NO idea how long this will interest them, or if we can really get it off the ground, but they were excited which excites me! Only thing is, I've never done this. Does anyone have any experience in this area? If we can actually put something good together, where do we send it? I am going to do some googling to see what I can find, but I thought I'd come to the experts first! Thanks for any help/advice/insight!

don't know about actually publishing it but you can get hardbound student copies from Studenttreasurespublishing. Good luck!

Our community college has a course about getting your work published. Ususally, you have to be 16 to take a course, but the make exceptions... if you have a community college near you, it might be worth checking out. You or your studetns could attend the class and that might get some of your questions answered. Also, if you can find a local author, someone who has been published already, they might be able to come in and talk to you and your kids about the process. Good luck!
