I'm thinking of using this book as a read aloud for my fifth grade LD students when we return to school. Anyone else read this book? I like the message here and how you learn about different characters, that may represent some students at school. Yet, more important they seem to bond over a twist in this novel.

I considered this as a read aloud last year. There are some wonderful themes in it.

It was chosen as a 2012-13 MCBA (MA Children's Book Award) and i try to incorporate some of these into my instruction and read aloud.

I ended up reading another MCBA, Falling In, as my first read-aloud. I will be starting with Wonder this year.

Because Amelia smiled. Same lesson told in a charming setting.

I just bought that as an audiobook! So good so far!

The book you are considering was my choice #2!

I get in a rut with favorite books, so was glad to see these.

My 5th graders loved it and I plan on reading it aloud again this year. Then we followed up with Mr. Terupt Falls Again. After that we arranged a Skype visit with Rob Buyea. The whole experience was great. I also read Wonder to my class. There are a lot of great books to read aloud!
