Our paper has a story today that you can return things from Amazon to Kohl's instead of having to send it back to Amazon. Apparently, you go online to Amazon return center and pick the Kohl's where you want to make the drop off. They said they rolled it out just in time for Prime Day.
Been available for a couple weeks where I live. You may have to change your address to Your Kohl’s to get it to recognize that you are close to a kohl’s. Mine acted like I was too far away for it to be an option at first.
You get a 25% off coupon to use in store for returning something from Amazon.
Interesting! Do you know if it is only for certain types of items? I have a Kohl's right near me, though I rarely return stuff from Amazon ( maybe twice in almost a decade?)
We’ve had it in the Chicago area for quite awhile- it’s wonderful. You get a code for the return from amazon and they scan it at Kohl’s. Also, Kohl’s gives you a 25%off code with your return receipt.
In CA, Kohl’s has been doing this for a good while now. We have made our returns there several times, and they make it so easy to do the transaction. I like that you don’t even have to package the item before bringing it to Kohl’s, as they do it for you!
I see, once I put in the returns, that when I looked up the return label it says I can either drop off at USPS or a kohls. Just pull the code up on your phone and they will scan it. Now, it only said that for 2 of the items, not the third. I will try my luck tomorrow!
The last time I returned something to Amazon via the ups store, I did not have to package it. I don't know if this is New or not since I rarely return things.
Ok, I went today and am here to report back.
There was a stand near the customer service desk (not the same, I guess they don't want to mix it up with store returns). I pulled up the return code on my phone and they scanned it, then gave me a Kohls coupon for each return. No Amazon receipt, and they didn't package it up while I was there. So I'm hoping it gets sent back correctly with no issues so I get my return credited to me. Tbh, they seemed very unsure with the proper procedure so who knows? I can see a lot of possible mix ups happening between the store and getting back to Amazon warehouse, so I'm not super confident
I think I will stick to packaging returns myself and dropping it off at the ups store. I usually go to my nearest staples to do the returns.
Hope this was helpful!
ETA: I did get notification that my return went through. So that was good. Also, I didn't realize today was the very first day they rolled it out. So I guess once they have it down pat, things should run much more smoothly with no fumbles. Still wouldn't go out of my way to make a return there, since it's not that close to home or school. I guess if it was closer by, I would.
