No textbook for Grade 5 math

Hi.
I am a Grade 5 homeroom teacher teaching at an international school in Europe. I have 14 students. I have 2 copies of their math textbook. I am supposed to use that and photocopy when necessary. The lack of colour photocopying sometimes makes exercises not doable.

I was going to ask my administrator to purchase enough texts for all. Is this a reasonable request or are teachers these days not using textbooks?

Looking forward to hearing from you out there. I would just like to hear what the consensus is out there from math teachers to know whether I have a legitimate challenge to bring up with my school director. What are your opinions?

Thanks.

Expateach.

I think it would be very difficult to have to copy so much, either with a machine or your writing on a board. More textbooks would make your life easier. I hope you get them.
