Yay! I finished most of my reading dugout (My whole classroom is Baseball Themed) today. I still have to fix a few labels, but it is pretty much set.

Here's a klink to my webpage with photos.

Thank you to everyone with the nice comments. The rugs were both super cheap. The big one was 40$ at a discount store. The small one, was one we picked up a few years ago for my son's nursery at the clearance table at Lowes for $8. I finally was able to snatch it up and take it to school when we redid his room in a space theme.

Your room looks great! You are so lucky you can even get in your room at this time. We can not get in our rooms until the week before school starts. They seem to think they need a month to let the wax dry. All of the floors were waxed last week.

Your room is precious. I am jealous of how much space it appears that you have. I have a pretty small room, but I love looking at how everyone else does theirs. Thanks for sharing. Also...your website is super great!

Cushions on crates. How simple, yet how cute and practical! Gonna borrow that one. Thanks!

Shea Stadium...you have hit a grand slam with your baseball theme.
Crisp, clean and well administered! Great use of materials. I need to go back and worship at the alter of baseball once more! Love your room.

Thank you all!

I actually always feel like everyone else's rooms look so big in their pictures - must by a picture thing.

The crate and cushions were something I saw on here. the crates are the 3.49 ones from Target and the cushions are regular chair sized ones I found on clearance at Target.

The slide show was just one of the choices through PhotoBucket.

Rugs

The small rug is from Lowes on clearance a few years ago, and the other was from Rose's a discount deptartment store. I have seen them both online, though too.

The reading dugout sign is actually a foam piece that I found in the clearance bin at Michaels for 50 cents. I just wrote on it with a black sharpie.

Awesome library area! I do have a question. On the slide show, I saw a posterboard with, I'm assuming, student numbers. Is this how your class checks out books? How do you utilize it? I'm looking for something so that I can keep track of who has what books. This looked like an easy way to do it. I was just wondering how it works.

I, too, will be using the "cushion and crate" idea. Great!

Thanks for sharing!

Library Check Out System
Old 07-21-2008, 01:12 PM

Clip to ScrapBook #29

Thanks, jbug for the compliment.

My kids each get an index card that they record the title of any book they have checked out, and they rate it when they return it. They use the same card until they are out of room. They get another colored card for library / books from home. This way it also serves as a reading log.

I hope that explains it well enough!
