Storing and organizing entertaining items

How/where do you store all of the items you have for entertaining? For example: platters, crockpots, salad serving bowls, cake holder, chips and dip/veggie server, etc.

Most of it is glass. I have no pantry and no more room in the little bit of kitchen cabinet space i have.

I do not use them really because i do not entertain much but hope to start doing so.

Thanks for any thoughts/ideas.

The most commonly used items are in a cabinet in my pantry. The things I use rarely are in a large plastic storage tub in the garage.

On a metal storage shelf in a room in my basement. I also keep all my holiday decorations on shelves in that room too.

I have a long closet off of the kitchen that I hang my hubbies clothes in. On the top shelf I keep my lesser used kitchen/entertains items. My mom has a hutch in her kitchen that holds her entertaining items otherwise she does the plastic bag on a garage shelf routine as well.

I store them in the basement in Rubbermaid Tubs with labels. We also have several shelves in the basement that I use. We've lived here for over 10 years and i rarely get them out! Perhaps our social life has declined since having 3 children and both working full-time. We usually host kids (for our boys) and I always use paper plates! Needless to say, all that beautiful crystal we received as wedding gifts may need to make an appearance once the kids are a little older and we actually do 'real' entertaining again.
