Finally home from vacation

We drove to Florida for our vacation. It took two days to get there, and we were completely worn out. We stayed in the "Roachmont" Hotel on the way there. I was concerned about bedbugs, but DH said that not even bedbugs would have stayed there. We took three days, and two nights to get back, but had pretty good luck with motels those two nights.
Florida was wonderful. We did Disneyworld, but otherwise hung out at the resort.
In July, we plan to take a three day trip to Branson.
I just got to wondering, maybe everyone who would like to could let us know about their vacation plans for this summer. Anybody want to share?

I am headed to Louisiana with three teaching peeps next week for the Whole Brain Teaching Conference! We are road tripping it...17 hours in a car!

We just bought a travel trailer so we have three camping trips planned as well...can't wait!

My dh has a business trip to St. Croix for a week and I am tagging along. We are staying for a second week so he can play, too. Pretty excited!

I am taking another long road trip this summer. We are driving from central Texas to northern Minnesota to visit family. We are planning to make a day trip to Winnipeg while we are there.

Then my husband and I will go to Minneapolis for three days and soak up some big city culture. I can't wait to see the Mall of America. Our big excitement there will be the aquarium not shopping.

Then on our way back home we will see three of the Laura Ingalls homesteads. We will also attend one of the plays of her life. Can't wait!

I am looking forward to seeing our beautiful country again. We previously drove to Niagara Falls and another year we went to Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore.

I spent a week at Disney World followed by a few days at Vero Beach.

Last week I taught three and four year olds at VBS. (preschool teachers are amazing!)

Next week I'll go to children's camp with third and fourth graders.

We're going to Myrtle Beach with DH's family in August. I'll also stop by and see my old school and doctor's appointment in Charleston. Can't wait!

We are flying to Austin to spend a week visiting with DS24. We haven't seen him since Christmas, and he's lived there for a year now. I miss him so much, and am so excited to have my whole family together! The 4 of us, and my bonus girl (we love his gf!)

Other than. That, just day trips when DH has time off later in the summer.

I am driving to Las Vegas. It is about five hours drive, but there is nothing I mean nothing on a way to see. I do not like gambling, so I am going for the shows and huge swimming pools.

We just got back from 8 days in the Bahamas. We rent a house and a couple of boats with two other families. This was our view....Sigh.I love the idea of the Laura Ingalls trips. That would be so cool.

Aroodtook County ME to open the family cabin. It will seem strange not to have hubs parents there. After labor day these retired to NC to visit my sister. May take a trip on to SC memory lane....met in college there, hubs was stationed there and our two older kids were born there. Then we may come home via the blue ridge parkway. Then off to Germany to spend holiday with our bilingual grandchildren. My prayer is that my achy body holds up.

I am currently on vacation. We were in Atlanta for a couple of days and are also in Vero Beach, FL. right now. We arrived here yesterday and will stay until Wednesday morning. After that we will make stops in South Carolina and Cincinnati and arrive home on Friday afternoon.

In July we will have a six day trip to Phoenix and Denver. We will have a few shorter weekend trips in August as well.

Road trip! SW Florida to Oregon for the birth of grandchild #2 in early August, we'll stay with them for about a month, then head back home. We'll be stopping at several national parks along the way (both ways), and maybe sneak in a side trip to Vegas. Retirement rocks

I'm glad you had so much fun! It sounds like a great trip, well, except for that one motel!

We are not sure about any vacation plans right now. We may take a very short - like 3-4 day, cruise. It is so hard with DD because of her illness and the fact that when she is out of her routine she has a ton more anxiety. She makes everyone else miserable.

We planned a quick trip out to the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, and the Badlands in July. I haven't been there since I was a kid, so I can't wait to go back and see it as an adult. Apparently when I was there last time I told my parents that it was the most boring vacation I'd ever been on in my life. I was a fun teenager.

We went to Disneyworld over Spring break, so we aren't doing any "big" vacations soon. My parents just bought a summer home in Michigan. We went there the last two weekends - it is beautiful! It is just a a few blocks from the beach. Since it is now a family cabin, we will have to coordinate with my sisters and parents. Other than that, planning on doing fun things around town with the kids. I definitely want to take them to Legoland - heard it is great!

We just got back from Estes Park, Colorado. We drove from North Texas. Long drive but so worth it. We had a cabin on the river for four days! Such a pretty place! Would love to have been able to stay longer, but DH has to go back to work. Now, I get to entertain the kids for the next 8 weeks!:

We haven't made any concrete plans yet, but since we just bought a house, we're not going far! I think we'll do a long weekend on the South Shore of Nova Scotia at some point.

I'm also jealous of the poster going to the Laura Ingalls homesteads! I got to my first "Little House" site last summer - Almanzo's house in Malone, NY - but I'd love to see the rest of them.

I would love to visit the Wilder homes too.

I used to visit her home/museum as a child, because my father grew up in Mansfield, MO and he liked to take us to her home. She published her first book when he was ten years old, and he was fascinated by her farm and their horses.
I haven't been there since I was a child. I'd love to go again.
