Baby Girl Names
Old 04-27-2020, 01:08 PM

I am due with Baby 3 in August. This will be our first girl. My older two are both boys. Dh and I are having the hardest time coming up with a baby name that we both agree on. I would love any suggestions you guys have! Here is some background information:

- We have a two syllable last name that is very difficult to pronounce, so I would prefer a first name that is easy to say/ spell since she will already have enough trouble with her last time.

- I tend to like more classic names instead of "trendy" names.

- Both of my boys have names that begin withe the letter L. However, I am open to any name for little sister, it does't have to start with an L.

-Bonus points if I haven't already taught a kid with the same name.

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your happy addition. That is going to be spoiled and happy little girl.

I'm in love with Audrey. I think it's classic. I also love Aubrey. I also like Elizabeth (Liz, which would be "L").

I love naming people's kids and seeing what other people come up with.

I assumed you wanted shorter names, but if you don't, I love Rebekkah/Rebecca.

I also love Kate, Leigh or Leah, and Molly.

I have an Elizabeth (which can be the same or go through various nicknames....she went by Liz in middle school). In our family with girls we also have a Magnolia who goes by Maggie and a Darcy. If I was going with a place name, I might go with London.

I think April is a pretty name and shouldn't be a spelling issue. I also like Heidi, Renee, and Zoe but I guess these could have spelling nuances.

And by the way, I have three kids- 2 boys and then 1 girl- and with a due date in August, you have a 3/31 change to hit one of the important dates in my family (oldest and youngest children's birthdays and our wedding anniversary)

How thrilling to be expecting a little girl! I love the names: Lindsay, Lily, Lila, and maybe too trendy, but Brooklyn.

I'll add some more. I didn't look at the other suggestions reason being if a name comes up by a lot of people, maybe you want to consider it more closely.

*Natalie
*Hannah
*Ann/Anne/Annie
*Lisa
*Molly
*Leah
*Caroline (although that might be a little long)
*Carly (not totally traditional though)
*Nora
*Mae/May
*Bridget
*Eliza or Elizabeth (although Elizabeth might be too long)
*Haley (not totally tradition)
*Kelly
*Erin

I vote for Lucy, Lisa, or Lily. They are feminine names, and either one would distinguish her from her brothers. Short, traditional, and easy to spell.

A few years ago, I had a student named Linnea.

I think it's a really pretty name, and not so common she would have several classmates with the same name.

I donít think anyone has mentioned Victoria. I think itís such a classic regal name. Nicknames could be Tori or of course Vicki.
