Morning Brain/Work Bins

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Our day begins in our classrooms this year 30 minutes before the school day starts, so I want to have bins for the kids to work on instead of doing paper morning work. I have been looking, but I need things for 4th graders and most I have seen are for younger kids. Would love some ideas!!!

Sorry, I can't be of any help, but I'd love the idea! I'm curious to see the ideas, as we are in the same boat, but it will be 15 minutes before their usual time. I'd love to have this as an option and from what I know about the incoming 4th graders, they would thrive with this.

Do you mind sharing the younger grade resources you found? That might get my brain working a little.

This is the teacher that I first saw using this idea:

I also found this today during my search:

I will be happy to share when I finally get some bins together!

Thanks for sharing! I love the ideas on those sites! I think 4th graders would love the activities presented on the two sites you posted.

My only thought is that with some of them, would you need to do any disinfecting? I'm thinking with the legos, blocks, etc. Another concern is that if they are working together on some of them, is it okay that they all touch the pieces? Maybe if they use hand sanitizer before or after? Just a thought. I know we can't avoid contamination completely, and some of us may take more precautions than others, but I wanted to point that out as a potential concern with COVID.
