Damage from TS Isaias

My town is nicknamed the borough of trees because there are huge, tall, gigantic oak trees everywhere. While most residents hate them during the fall, they do make the town pretty. Yesterday, after Isaias blew through, we became the borough of less trees. Over 100 trees fell and luckily no one was seriously hurt. This is just some of what I saw out on my drive through town.

I hate it when trees fall. It's scary and sad, too. When Isabel blew through our area, we lost five trees just in our yard. Only three of them hit the house, and luckily, none of them did a whole lot of damage. I keep waiting for our huge Bradford Pear tree to split. It seems like a few get taken out in every major storm, but it made it through once again. Whew!

How sad that so many trees were lost in your beautiful neighborhood I hope you and your family are doing well and did not suffer any property damage.

Jackie - Iím glad your ok. Thatís some damage.

I live on the coast in NJ where there were 2 tornados yesterday. One in my town which luckily blew through without touching down. We still donít have power (day 2) but the power company is estimating by 10:30 tonight. There are a lot of us without power in this small area. The best news is that no one was hurt.

We lost our power yesterday. No word on when it will return. Looks like it is time for a refrigerator cleanout!

I am glad no one was hurt. I am petrified of trees falling on our house. When we bought our house that was one thing I looked at before anything else. We have one small tree and one large pine tree that sits away from our house. Neither tree would fall directly on our house unless the wind picked them up and carried them. Our neighbor lady had one fall but it fell toward her empty lot and missed her house. Our other neighbor has a small one in her front yard but it's not in line with our house. Our very first house we bought had beautiful oak trees that were huge and awesome shade but every wind that came through I was terrified. Dh did cut one down and the others he swore were safe. Lol. I hope your town recovers quickly.

I always hate to see these lovely giants come down! I am glad that there weren't injuries, but I know those can cause a lot of structural damage. I hope the clean up is swift!
