Our local health authority has now said that masks are only required in the classroom when social distancing is not possible. Well, thatís only every day, all the time!!!

OMG that is NUTS. Ugh. I am thankful that my school (when we reopen - likely a month into distance learning first) is enforcing masks all the time and not to be taken off unless outdoors. Still don't understand schools fighting the mask debate. Even when physically distant, the particles are in the air - how do they not understand the science? I am so sorry for you

We were told today that if you have a mask on, you donít need to distance at all. I have double desks. I was told to use both sides since we were wearing masks. Small groups are fine as long as they arenít sitting on the floor .

Breakfast in the classroom at those desks with no masks.

I am so thankful that my district is requiring masks all of the time, and being super strict about it. If you can't do it, then you go to the online school.

I HATE wearing my mask, but unfortunately the research is really clear that it seems to be the most helpful thing. Frankly I wish there was something more comfortable we could do- but this is the strategy we've got!

We are wearing masks in common areas, but in classrooms they are only required while moving around the room. At their seats, they can remove masks because they are 6í apart.

everyone must wear masks at all times except when eating here. Our governor put out an executive order stating that any school or other business not following the protocols will be fined and shut down.

We are wearing masks all the time except when outside and eating and water breaks. We are going hybrid so hopefully I only have about 10 kids a day and we can be 6 feet apart. Still wearing them. I agree with a PP that it floats in the air a fair amount of time and who knows what out ventilation system is really like. 7 hours together....they need masks on all the time.
We do eat snack in the room typically, so they will be off then. Not crazy about that. Maybe we will go outside in good weather for that.

My district's website clearly states that anyone (student or staff) choosing not to wear a mask during instruction will be dismissed from the building.
I will be wearing mine as I very often do. I will be avoiding those who attempt to defy that order.

Our governor issued a mask mandate so we will be wearing masks inside the building until the legsilature or state supreme court overturns the order, which they probably will do. Then we'll be required to wear masks in hallways and when social distancing isn't possible, although individual teachers can require masking if they wish.

The school is also providing teachers with masks and face shields. Personally, I appreciate it. If we had no masking requirement, I would have resigned.

So basically without proper ventilation and unmasked children, the virus hangs around the classroom but being that the children are frozen in their seats all day without getting out of their six foot spread seats, no virus will spread from child to child or from child to teacher or from teacher to child.

Masks for All Except...

So our district starts out strict, but then backs down. So we are all supposed to wear masks except when not talking, being distanced, eating, if you are learning support, have a 504, or another reason why you can't wear a mask. So basically it seems optional. We were already told that we don't have to police the masks. Great, but who is then?

So I'm not sure how this will go! Also, our rooms are small to begin with. Yet we can fit 20 kids in a room?
