Help,Please! English to Spanish

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm a retired elementary teacher and now a new volunteer tutor for adult ESL students. I have a Speaking Tips handout I need to translate into Spanish for a beginning level student. I tried using some free translator sites online, but when I took their Spanish version and translated it back to English, it didn't say what I meant. Computers can't think and translate way too literally.

If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it. I'll attach a copy, and even if no one translates for me feel free to download it for yourself or anyone else who might be able to use it.

Thanks in advance.

Consejo para hablar

Trata de pensar in inglés. Esto ayudará a su habla inglés convertido en suave y natural. Estas entrenando su mente a pensar del mundo en inglés.

¿Cómo puede pensar en inglés?

En primer lugar, empezar a pensar en palabras individuales.

Mira a tu alrededor y ver qué objetos que puede dar el nombre en inglés. (Look around and ser what objects you can name in English.). Will finish in a while.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond. In your opinion, will this info help my student? She is very sweet and is anxious to improve her English conversation skills.
Thanks again.

As to if this will help, I'd say yes. Make sure she can read, though! I have sweet, very smart friends who just had no chance to get an education. Good luck!

I'm so glad to have this translated. Thanks for helping out a stranger!

This young woman was graduated from high school in Columbia, South America. She actually worked as an excellen high wire circus artist! Just never spoke English very much at all, and now that she has relocated here in Florida she wants (and needs) to speak English. She can read aloud, but comp needs a little help, as she sounds out and is a "word caller". I enjoy working with her very much. We laugh and have a lot of fun. Free tutoring for her; an opportunity for me to continue my life's work and try to help someone else out.
