Take Home Books for ELL Students

I teach second grade and my school has a growing ELL population. We are looking for some resources to help support these students. We are especially looking for Spanish-English Bilingual books that we can send home with students for at home reading. Does anyone know of any book sets that you'd recommend?

This is supposed to link with their books in Spanish. Their sister company Sundance has/had? reproducible copies of their leveled books in English, they may have some in Spanish--I couldn't navigate their site very quickly for you.

You might check the ColorinColorado site for information--they are a terrific support for teachers, parents, and students.

Reading A-Z

Reading A-Z is great for take home books. It costs $ for an annual subscription, but well worth it. Many, if not most, of their books come in both an English and a Spanish version...and their leveled! It's a fantastic resource for ELLs.

I second Reading A-Z. I use it all the time. AND I love the fact that the books are in both Spanish and English so that the students can talk together about the same book!

I also use A-Z reading and find it very useful. The site has added a lot of new inforamtion including books that match the CCSS.
