My district just adoped Reading Street. We will have training this fall, but I am curious what others think is the most useful teaching tool in this series. Thanks.

It comes with a Readers/Writers Notebook which we used frequently and a CD that has extras for you to use if you choose. There are a variety of genres in the stories. One of the things that I wasn't crazy about is the comprehension tests aren't over the story read but instead the passage had a similar theme.

Our district is in its third year of reading street. I have taught the 1st and 2nd grade levels. I like the online assessments. I enjoy the skills, spelling, grammar, theme, all being tied in together. I don't like the writing and supplement my own.
