Well they have begun. My local radio station is saying that they think he faked his own death. That they find it strange that his body has not been seen sense his death. Also, because he had on an oxygen mask on when he left for the hospital. So what do you think could he have done this? I don't think he would do that to his children.
Usually I do not buy into conspiracy theories, but this one... who knows. The thing is, he is absolutely crazy enough to do it. But there would have to be too many people who knew and are keeping their mouths shut. I think someone would have blabbed by now.
I remember almost hoping the same thing (that it was staged) for both Princess Diana and JFK, Jr. I could understand why they might go to drastic lengths to escape constant media scrutiny.
Doubtful, though...aren't people still looking for Elvis?
It just happened on the Young and Restless. Someone who "died" 18 or 20 years ago just showed up again. He had faked his own death back then. We have seen so much fantasy on TV that we are so guillable we will accept anything as real in the world anymore.
Wow---I had not read anything about this, but that "faking his own death" thought also crossed my mind this morning, as I watch all the funeral hoopla on tv.
They've given this thing more fan fare and tv time than the last dead president received.....
some people have their priorities all wrong..........why not let the guy die in peace. Someone is making BIG money on this 2 week extravaganza! I do think he died. I just heard Hoda and Kathy Lee complaining about the overkill on media coverage and then in the next sentence they are asking how much it costs, who hasn't come forward to comment(like Diana Ross etc.) and how hard it will be for Jermaine to sing. Ahhhh.........I finally shut the TV off. Enough is enough........he isn' a God or superhuman. He was a very talented genius with music and dance. He gave millions to children BUT he had a very strange few years where he probably did something with children he wasn't suppose to do. We need to take a look at how we are making him out to be MORE than he really was.
I think the whole thing with him is so sad. He was such a talented guy. Music is one of my passions and I grew ups listening to him, so for me it's very sad knowing that he's gone. I feel sorry for him. I think he had lots of issues and eventually became an unhappy person. I think the events and details surrounding his death are one more example that he was crying out for help. I know he was a person who probably made some mistakes that a lot of us would consider unforgivable. This is going to sound cliche, but truly, for me, I will choose to remember him through his music.
For all of his faults, he loved his children. I can't imagine that he would do that to them.
I don't know why the media would "find it strange that his body has not been seen since his death". Seen by whom? Family members have seen it. Do we, the public, or the media routinely get to see the dead bodies of celebrities after they pass away?? Odd.
That's just as bad as the people that were telling jokes about him within a day or two after he died. I just don't get people sitting around developing these tasteless jokes or conspiracy theories. I think they should let him rest in peace.
I think it would be awful to fake a death, especially one that seems to be using a lot of time and resources. About the body: Weren't 2 autopsies performed? That would be at least 2 people who saw it, not to mention family members. I don't think it's odd that the media hasn't seen the body. About the oxygen mask: I don't think he died until after he got to the hospital, so I don't think it's strange that he had on an oxygen mask. If I were dying from cardiac arrest or whatever, I would hope someone would give me one!
but a childhood friend of mine lives in CA and is in the backgrounds of the business -
his friend is a surgeon there at that hospital and confirmed it to my friend before it was on the news. I guess that surgeon could be in on it...but -
I dunno.
Medical professionals at a place like UCLA wouldn't lie about something like a death. They could lose their licenses.
If he'd been at home with his personal doctor, who then pronounced the death without hospital involvement, it would have been possible to fake the death. But once they got the hospital and county coroner involved, and particularly a large hospital like UCLA, faking it would be impossible.
And I know there was genuine concern in the business that he was not healthy enough to run another concert tour. I'd read an article to that effect in the LA Times probably about 2 weeks before his death. So it really wasn't a surprise.
I think, for someone as eccentric as he was, and as shocking as it was for people who didn't realize the extent of what he was doing to his body, believing that it was staged is probably part of the grieving process. And he was so eccentric that something like a faked death isn't a real leap to believe, kwim?
