You could find a classroom (within or outside your district) and do a "skype" conference about a book ya'll both read. Students could blog about their favorite Dr. Suess (or any) book.

Students can create a cereal box report about their favorite book and present to the class. You can graph your favorite books. You could play a scavenger hunt using books.

** example ** You just read "David Goes to School". Who do you think David might meet because of his behavior? -- the answer is the principal, you could have another clue in the principals office that led to the library or other part of the building.

I hope these help!

Dr. Seuss' birthday was a week long celebration when I taught grade 1. each day was themed

Monday: Crazy hat day-The cat in the Hat, the 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins
Tuesday: Crazy Sock day: Fox in Socks,
Wednesday: School Colors- Hooray for Diffendoofer Day
Thursday: PJ Day-I'm not getting up today, the sleep
Friday: Dress up as what you want to be when you grow up day
(I call it "All grown up day")- Oh the Places you will go

We do all sorts of differnt activities that week that revolve around Seuss books too, but there a million ideas on here!
