And I do not know what to buy! Hard problem...I know.

I've got art supplies covered for the year. I have a doc camera projector. No smart board but I don't think I want one.

Ideas on single non consumable items?
6th grade self contained....

Do you need Science equipment? I always wanted to do the Owl autopsy but never had the money to buy the pellets. Do you need to do something like that? Do you need a printer/ink? A magazine subscription for the class like Kids Time? How about reading chairs? Enjoy spending

This one one of several math resources that I couldn't do without. I think this system is one of the best to help students understand Pre-Algebra concepts with variables.

http://www.borenson.com/

Also, I think demonstration sized geometry shapes are important. They help the students see edges, faces, and vertices.

There are a variety of 24 Challenge game card sets. I use the factors/multiples, single digit, double digit, fractions, and variables sets. Also they have a set of small folded cards that are perfect for centers or individual work.

Here is a link for the big card sets: http://www.24game.com/s-2-24-game-96...-editions.aspx

This link is for the classroom tournament (folding) card sets.

It is a website that you sign up for and then people can donate money to your account. 100% of the money goes to you. YOu then can purchase items through their venders (School Specialty, Frey Scientific, Office Max etc) with the money that was donated. Donations are tax deductible and very simple to make.

The up side is how easy it is. The down side is that you are limited to their venders which often do not have the best pricing and shipping rates.

Once per year you can buy from an outside vender and submit the receipt for reimbursement.

Thank you for the ideas! I have done owl pellets in the past so may take that on again. They are fun! I had not seen the borenson web site and it looks intriguing. We are currently fighting our way through equations.

Ipads are a good idea, however, I have 34 kids and fear that only 2 would put too small of a drop in the bucket!
34 kids in 900 square feet! No room for reading chairs!
