I'm still working on my car decision, but getting close! Someone is buying my current car in a few days so I guess I have to decide.

I will be getting an SUV - deciding between a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Honda CRV. (Feel free to weigh in on those options, too!)

I'm debating on the color. I like black, but it just isn't me.

I really like the clean, crisp look of white, but worry about what it will look like in the middle of winter. (But then again, colored cars don't look great either then.) I also like that I can get a grey interior.

I also really like red, but not sure if it's too sporty. People say they also attract speeding tickets. The one I like only comes with a black interior, which I'm not a fan of, but I could deal.

Sometimes I like grey (not silver), but I don't think it's anything special.

Opinions?

I am a fan of blue cars. I have had 5 cars and 4 of them have been a shade of blue. I have heard that red cars attract speeding tickets also. My mom has always had a red car and never had a speeding ticket.
Out of the colors you listed I would go with grey.

I like blue, too, which is what I have now. I feel the need to get something different, otherwise I'd go with blue!

I love a medium blue color. I have had a black Highlander, a blue one, and now a white one. The blue was my favorite with gray interior. Our white car has black interior which I don't like as much. Also, there are too many white cars in parking lots. I can hardly find mine and I have almost gotten into the wrong car a few times!

I love dark blue cars, but we've never owned one. We have owned quite a few cars in shades of crimson. The only speeding ticket I've ever gotten was with a beige car. That's also the color car I hate most that we owned. We have silver now and I like it. I have also had dark green, which I loved. I'm not a fan of white cars- I rarely wash cars.

Red and black interior sounds great to me! I have heard that about more red cars getting tickets, so if you tend to speed I might stay away from that. They just attract more attention in general.

If you live in a state where it gets pretty hot in the summer, you might want to keep in mind that a black interior can really attract the heat.

Black exterior will show the dirt more than a lighter color, and absorbs heat in the summer. Our white car did’t look as dirty as the neighbor’s black car in the winter, and we rarely washed it. We’ve had red, silver, white, and beige cars over the years, and they were fine. DH can get a speeding ticket no matter the color of the car. if I could choose, I’d pick deep red, just because I like it. Have fun deciding!

I love red cars though I would avoid it if you live where it ever gets hot. Black interiors are the pits then. I also like blue cars. I actually think white cars look less dirty than colored cars and I lived on a gravel road so I have experienced it. I am not fond of gray/silver because it seems like every car in the parking lot is that color and you can never figure which one is yours. By the way, I just got a different car(used) and guess what. It's gray with a black interior so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I have driven a red car for 20 years, not the same car but they all have been red. I've never had a speeding ticket. Drive the speed limit and you'll be fine. I drove a grey car before my first red one and it seemed people pulled out in front me a lot more. Grey and silver are difficult to see in the sun and snow, it's the same color as the road.

I do not care for black interiors either. Black shows all dirt and imperfections.

Have fun picking out your new car. You have it narrowed down to 2 good choices. Stop analyzing, because you will always find a negative and it will make a fun event difficult. Cars get dirty no matter what color it is so go with what you like.
Enjoy your new car!

It's silver with a grey interior. It almost always looks nice. Its a 2015, and I have 91,000 plus miles on it. I've driven it coast to coast (literally) and couldn't want for a better car. I think they've upgraded it since I bought mine. Do spend the money for keyless ignition and Bluetooth. I will never do without it again. I've become spoilt!

My last three cars have either been silver or gray. The first time, I chose the gray and loved it. I liked silver, but it was too similar to the gray. With those cars, the silver was what was available. I am hoping my next car will be a different color, anything but silver or gray, please. Good luck with the new wheels. How exciting!

I am not a green loving person but of all the cars I've had in my lifetime my favorite color was a similar shade of green to this print. I LOVED it, and could always find it in a parking lot because very few people had a car this color!

If you go Honda, do the champagne color! LINK

I'm on my 3rd consecutive champagne Honda. I think it looks classy and really hides the dirt.

My 1st choice = blue, but it has to be the RIGHT shade, such as a royal blue, which I have now

My 2nd choice = red, but again, the RIGHT shade such as a bright blue red (as opposed to orangy red), candy apple red, or certain deep metallic red

Fun fact - There was a time my parents and I each had a blue car, so that's 3 blue cars at once!

Iíve had a brownish red, a nearly black green, and white. The white shows dirt far less than the others. When itís dirty, it just looks off white instead of bright white. My last two vehicles have had light gray cloth interior. I like it. And cloth.

I am the complete opposite of you. I picked my colors based on what came with a black interior. I think it look so much nicer and does not show dirt or stains either. My previous car had the light interior and after moving twice in it, it was pretty much ruined! I love my black interior now.

I also hate the look of white cars. It may be a regional thing as far as how dirty they look, but here unless you wash them regularly they look filthy. One of my teammates really wanted one and ended up buying a monthly car wash package because of it.

I had picked out a silver car with a black interior and went to pick it up. The sales guy told me they "really thought" that one was on the lot, but it's not, and they have this white one instead. I refused to even think about it- yuck! He even offered me a couple thousand off of what was already a decently cheap car to take the white one, and I stood firm.

I ended up getting my silver with a black interior at another dealership. I haven't washed it once since getting it 6 months ago and it still looks perfect. Really my favorite outside color is blue, which is what I used to have, but that didn't come with the black interior so that was out for me.

Holds value and great cars

Get what you like. I had a red Porsche Boxster never got pulled over.

Grey or silver blends in with the road. Not that safe.

White is a good color choice.

So is blue

I think a medium blue with cream colored interior is pretty.

Again. Get what YOU like.

I have a dark gray car with black interior. I love the black interior. It does look dirty fast but it looks and feels sporty to me. I live where it gets super hot so I use one of those sunshades in the front window. It really does work. And I have vented seats so it cools off fast.

I went to the dealership to buy a white car and ended up with dark gray!! Good luck! So many decisions...

Gray is super popular around here! The only way I find my gray Honda CRV in parking lots is by my bike rack But I do like the looks. My daughter has a deep red one and it's beautiful too!

Thanks, everyone! I guess this proves it is all about personal preference!

I like the blue of the CRV, but not of the Santa Fe. I do not like the red in the 2019 CRV (too orangey), but I do in the Santat Fe.

I'm leaning towards no grey/silver, because as many of you pointed out, there are so many of them on the road!

I'm so indecisive!

Color is in the top three requirements when I buy a car. The other two are a sunroof and light interior. I have a red car now and love it. There are many different shades and they look different in person. Make sure you see the actual color. You can go to a dealership and look at the cars in the lot before you decide. Enjoy!

I buy white cars now, because of the higher visibility. I don't like tan, beige, or gray because that looks like fog, and sometime we have a lot of fog here. I always drive with my lights on for the same reason. Take a second to observe which cars you notice first as you drive. White. For me at least. There are so many white cars around these days, though. Remember the days when we all had radio antennas and could put something on the end to identify our cars? I liked that!

We just replaced our CRV with another CRV. Our last one was silver and this one is gray. I am not excited about the gray, and really liked the white or silver. We buy used and the 2017 gray was a much better deal. Love my gray cloth interior. Love love love how it handles in the snow.

Current car is a Ford Flex (love it) that is the most beautiful blue color. It has a beige leather interior which I am also loving. I had a grey Kia Sorento that I also loved the color of. The Black cloth seats got warm during the summer. Hubby has a grey/silver kia with light grey seats that he loves.
