And he doesn’t even know it.
During dinner I was talking about “The Mirror”. That interactiv exercise program thing. Apparently he has zero idea of what it is. Tons of commercials at Christmas. Man who watches TV 8 hours a day has never seen it.
So I explain it and say I’m not buying one, but the concept is intriguing.
DH: yeah, but what 66 year old woman can use it?
Ummm....me, if we had the space.
And before anyone offers advice, it’s not a hill I’m willing to die on. I’m just annoyed.
My DH will be turning 66 in a few weeks and it irks me that he considers himself old. I am a little younger (63 1/2) and don’t feel any older than I did 20 years ago......for the most part anyway! . Age is a state of mind.
I get it. I am 52 and my husband used to talk about how old we are. Too old to do certain things and someday we will die.
When I decided that I was going to lose weight, he told me that I wouldn’t be able to because I was too old.
In February 2019 when I got a diagnosis of mild diabetes, it made me angry enough to revamp my diet and kick up my workouts.
Almost a year ago I was down 60 pounds and have now kept it off for almost a full year. I am 52 years old and now weigh 125 pounds and my husband is so proud of me that he tells me daily how much he admires me and is glad that he was wrong. I don't hear that I am too old to do things as often.
I would be so tempted to verbalize that response every time he suggested that I do something. ‘’Oh, but what 66 year old woman can do that?’’ Probably why I am single!
Congrats. Sorry to hijack the thread but please tell me how you lost weight. I'm 55 and need to lose 30 pounds . I did it 3 years ago and gained it back within a few months
I cut out most sugar and bad carbs. I mostly eat chicken, salads and vegetables and if I crave anything sweet which is every night, I eat some sugar free chocolate. I will have one dish of ice cream a week so I don’t completely deprive myself since I would go crazy if I did.
I also work out 100 minutes per day several days a week. I use a dance routine that I have adjusted to go 100 minutes and sometimes I power walk.
