Thank You so much for your caring, compassion, and kindness.
Thank You for always being in my corner, for rooting for me, and for your prayers.
Your friendship means the world to me and please know how much I truly appreciate you.
Taking things one baby step at a time.
Admittedly, I am my own worst enemy and my gnawing negativity and constant worry cause so many problems.
Trying my best to be spunky and perky.
Sometimes I need to fake it 'til I make it.
Trying to just breathe.
Talking to a therapist weekly.
Praying A LOT. Reading uplifting books. Journaling.
Thank You for asking about my son.
He turns 21 next week!
He gets so excited about opening presents.
Yet, he has such simple wants...which I find so endearing.
So, I'll spend $20 and get him a stack of things that he loves: chocolate, cookies, bubbles, tops, coloring books, crayons, puzzles.
And we'll have his favorite: a Carvel cake with the chocolate cookie crunchies.
These things will bring him so much joy.
We live in a teeny tiny apartment and we have so much of my son's artwork everywhere.
So, our holiday decorations are set up on a table.
We have a manger.
And an Advent Calendar/Book that opens up into a white, paper pop-up tree.
Each day, my son and I read an inspiring Bible story from the little book that's included.
My son opens a door and puts a little paper ornament on the tree.
He is so excited about this tradition.
He waits patiently for me to get home from work, so that we can "do our tree" together.
My son is also enjoying creating holiday cards.
We are still doing an art project each day.
Our new favorite project is taking Dollar Store art prints and embellishing them with gems, sequins, ribbon, flowers, words, stickers, and wood cut outs.
They turn out really great.
Thank You again for being so caring.
I'm so fortunate to have you all here to turn to.
Thank You for being my soft place to fall.
Hoping to rejuvenate and strengthen my spirit over the holiday break.
It's so wonderful to hear from you . Your son is fortunate to have you and your dh so involved in his life. It sounds like you have set up a great routine to stay centered and able to deal with work . Thanks for keeping us posted
Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles.
It empties today of its strength.
I can't remember where I found that--but it helped calm me. I'm glad that you are finding some (limited) joy again and I hope that you will find more AND MORE.
I am happy to hear from you and that things are moving in a positive direction. It must be fun for your DS to open the doors on the advent calendar [I love doing it for my dog even now].
Your post literally brought tears to my eyes. This is so sweet. Sounds like you are focused on the right things in your life. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
You are important. Remember that. You have gifts to share that no one else has. You've got this. Keep breathing and taking things a day at a time. Sometimes a moment at a time is good enough.
I don’t read all the boards often. For some reason I remember that you were feeling a bit down. I often wondered how you were doing. Glad to hear that you are hanging in there.
I am so glad to hear you are well. We do really care about you here at PT. I hope your son has a wonderful birthday, and that his joy is contagious to you and your DH.
You are important, and you mean a lot to us.
Happy Holidays!
