My first reaction is that he knows what to do to get sent out of the room.

Also, none of the parents or other students seemed to react much to his outburst.

I'm guessing the guy that verbally redirected him and removed him was his 1:1 aide.

Did I see that right?

After the outburst, did I see a man grab him up by one arm and physically remove him? I think I saw him lift him up before even looking the child in the eye and speaking to him. If that is what happened they are both lucky his shoulder wasn't injured.

These are really young kids. They do what has been modeled for them. The behavior has to have consequences, but the consequence given, in my opinion, was not the best choice. The part where someone posted it is even worse. Kids make mistakes. No one that age decided that they would go to the school ceremony and be bad. They just get triggered and act before they think. All our kids make mistakes, no child's mistake should go viral.

Either that, or Tourette's Syndrome. I had one girl in 4th grade with the syndrome plus a host of other problems brought on by parents who gave her up and put her in foster care. She could drop the f-bomb every fourth word, as in "I don't want to do this f-ing work." I didn't have an aide, and had her for only two weeks before she had an emergency placement in our county special ed school for emotionally needs elementary students.

Of course, the kid in the video, like others have suggested, could just be mimicking what he heard at home.

It very well could be Tourette's syndrome. Could be caused by various other issues.
Anyway as much as I love the internet, sometimes it can cause great harm.

We always had a saying: Praise in public, correct in private. This really broke that rule.

The room was most likely very full with adults chatting as the program was getting started which may be why she seemed loud. The camera was very close to the front. The child seemed to be asking a question of the teacher while she was trying seat the kids. The teacher brushed off the child several times while directing him and the others to sit down. Tourettes is often seen as repetitive body movements and speech. I don't see Tourettes but I do see a child, frustrated and not listened to in the moment. That does not excuse his behavior in which he most likely is repeating language he hears at home. The physical force seen as the child was grabbed by an adult is scary!
This video should not be on social media at all and perhaps should be removed here as well.

So disturbing! I'm glad he was removed from this special event. I'm sure it wasn't the first time he has used that language. Sad state of affairs

to be removed.

Yanking a child by the arm to lift him up would have been a reason for that adult, if employed by the school, to be dismissed. He was very lucky he did not dislocate that child's shoulder. We NEVER handle children like that, no matter what they do. This highlights the need to have better trained staff.

This was something that I was definitely shocked by. I teach High School, so I've had this same language spoken to me by students, but unfortunately it's not as much of a shock by then.

I wondered if the person who removed him wasn't his father. Yikes!
