Movies for 4th grade

Clip to ScrapBook #1

My fourth graders earned a class reward and they want a movie as their treat. I can show G movies. Anyone have any suggestions for G rated movies or Y Rated TV shows that are appropriate for 4th graders in a Catholic School? Since it's a Catholic School, religious movies are totally fine, but they do need to be G. My plan is to present some options and let the kids vote. Any ideas for options?

1. Babe
2. Homeward Bound
3 WallE
4. The “old” Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
5. The Apple Dumpling Gang
6. The “old” Escape to Witch Mountain
7. The “old” Freaky Friday

These are ones that I have watched with my own children and kept their attention.

I didn't think that one would keep their attention, but when I showed my 3rd graders, they begged for Homeward Bound 2 when it was over! I can see 4th graders loving it as well.

As a sub I can't show movies, but I like taking my class to another room to see Air Bud or Matilda or James and the Giant Peach. We tried Boss Baby on Netflix but the kids just talked over it and it was a noisy headache. The oldies are goodies!

An American Tail tells of the immigration experience of the 1870s-80s. It's lots of fun.
