And then tell me how you say it.

Do you say joo-wel-ree?

Joo-ler-ree?

Jool-ree?

Just curious.

Jool-ree or joo-well-ree. My father was a gold purchaser in the industry most of his career.

Saying joo-ler-ree drives me nuts, haha ! ( like nu-cu-lar...ugh!!)

I say Joo-el-ree. So does Man. I just asked him, "what's the category of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings?" He looked at me as if I were from Mars and said, "joo-el-ree?" and then turned away raising his eyebrows in that way that says, "she's SO weird!"

A jool-er makes jool-er-ree!

You know, like a potter makes pottery and a baker makes...bakery.

I say jool-ree, but since the spelling is jewellery in many other English-speaking countries, I can understand the other pronunciations.

jool-ree

I'm from one of the Mid-Atlantic states - people up north say we sound like we are from the South. Southerners think we sound like the north.

Sheesh.

Before I knew how to spell it, I pronounced it jool-ree.
Since then, I purposely pronounce it joo-wel-ree.

Similarly, I pronounce the word realtor as real-tor, not real-a-tor.

I mostly say it like that, too. I'm not a kiwi, though

I either say "jool-er-ee" fast or "jo-ol-ree" slow so it sounds like it has a third syllable. Something like that.

I think I say jool-ree.

However, with my accent, it sounds more like jew-ree.

I don't know how to type it out phonetically. Joo-l-ree or Jewel-ree. I guess.
