I was walking through the cafeteria today when a student I had last year came running up to give me a hug. He said, “Oh, Mrs. linda2671, you’ve lost weight.” I have, but do hugs have memories?

Congrats on the weight loss. If a student can notice it, others can too. You should feel proud of your hard work.

How sweet of that student to notice and congratulate you on your weight loss. Congratulations on your accomplishment.

That's much better than having a child yell across the playground "Did you color your hair again!"

That's sweet. But to answer your question is YES hugs have memories. My nephew is thin but with his arms held at his sides he is almost my late DH's size. So he lets me hug him this way. It's nice.

Compliments from kids are the best. Congratulations on the weight loss and on being a great teacher that your former student loves since he ran to give you a hug and a sweet compliment!

How sweet !
Kids can be so honest!

It's nice when you don't have to go "fishing/hinting" for compliments or positive comments from others.

Of course! A kid hug would know your exact level of squishiness better than an adult eye that could be fooled by angles and clothing.

Enjoy the 100% pure compliment.
