6+1 trait with genre writing

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi! I'm a new teacher in first grade who's lost while trying to revamp the writing workshop during the winter break I was trying to tie in 6+1 trait with genre writing in order to meet the district standards. How do you do this? For instance, I am planning to teach friendly letter writing and want to focus on voice. How do you do this? Are there any teacher resources or books that have lessons on teaching trait with genre?
I really need help! Thank you in advance

Perhaps you can focus on the difference of style in a letter to a friend vs. a business letter. Display a business letter and show the formal words, such as no contractions, the difference in the salutation and closing. Now have pretend conversations with different people, such as how you talk to the principal is different from how you talk to your mom.
