Cabin fever and retired teachers

We have another big snowfall in our city so the roads are blocked and the schools are closed. Of course, it doesn't affect retired teachers but we've been texting pictures of our grandchildren playing in the snow and making snow angels. One thing led to another and the dare was on to go outside and make snow angels with video proof. The snow is pretty deep but I got dressed and had DH video me making the snow angel in the backyard. It's not that easy when you're 70! The funniest part was the footage from the security camera showing a very slow old lady trying to lay down in the snow and make a snow angel. Seeing me try to get up was even funnier.

Who has cabin fever and how are you trying to combat it?

I don't think the OP added a video link. The blue was just her question.

I don't have cabin fever because I make it a point to go outside every day. Of course where I live we don't have snow, and most of the time the weather is great. We have had more rain than normal and it confuses people so much that they don't want to venture outside.

I think you are correct. Sorry, I live in central Texas so rarely do we have weather that keeps us indoors.

I hope you enjoyed making your snow angel. Sounds like fun!

I think my coworkers were one of the things I most loved about teaching. We weren't quite grown up and were quick to balance potatoes on our heads or march around the room singing the Hooray For Me song. Most adults "on the outside" aren't quite as much fun as teachers. We seem to find joy in the moment and letting go of our inhibitions. Gotta love teachers and retirement.

Good for you, Renea. The getting up is the hard part for me, too.

And a big YES to this. My very favorite new friend in my new hometown is also a retired teacher.

I guess now is not the time to tell you that I don't have cabin fever, but spent some time today in our pool!
it's much easier to get out of the pool than off the ground (at least for these old bones of mine, RA sucks)
The only thing I have to scrape off my windshield is seagull poop.

I do have cabin fever - yesterday we got another 9 inches of snow - we've now broken the record for amount of snow in February.

Even though I was fortunate enough to spend 3 weeks in January in Puerto Vallarta, I spent yesterday hunting down flights and hotels in Mexico for the first week in March. I just would like to be someplace sunny!

Unfortunately, dh didn't agree with that plan. His advice: Get out your SAD light and sit in front of it!

Tried to escape

It's been down to 0 degrees around here with lots of snow and closed highways, so we escaped to Death Valley. Well. There were a few days of sunshine, but many more of motorhome rocking winds, clouds, and three days of rain!! We couldn't take the pictures we'd planned because the tripod wobbled in the gusts. The best laid plans. . .

But Death Valley is always pretty no matter the weather.

We have had very unusually large number of dark rainy days and we have been holed up. Our roads (rural) were almost impassable from all the rain so we couldn’t really get out and I got a bad case of the blues/ anxiety so I fixed an old sewing machine and made some potholders. Not exciting but so really needed the potholders.

(I also played with my grandsons electric train set)
