Family literacy night ideas?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I teach public school, but my own child attends a private school. His school is hosting a family literacy night next week, basically an event for families to visit different stations run by community sponsors, make and takes created by teachers, etc.

Since I teach transitional K, they asked me if I would help out and have an activity focused on giving parents ways to work with their preschool/Kinder age children on literacy at home. I said yes, but I have no idea what to do!

Anyone have any ideas for make and take activities that parents/kids could easily do, for not much $ for activities?

The first thing that comes to mind is a letter or sight word bingo game.
