Does anyone have any cute (but easy and low prep) crafts or activities that are holiday/winter themed to go with number sense?

I have quite a few of those foam shapes from michaels - christmas trees, gingerbread men, snowflakes, etc. I write a number on them and then the kids place that many decorations (shiny jewels on the tree, buttons on the gingerbread man, etc.) on them.

There are also a lot of good free roll and cover games on tpt that are themed. My kids love those!

I usually have a math bin that has little erasers (themed if I have them), number cards, and popsicle sticks (colored to go with the theme if possible - for making "tally marks").

I don't really do crafts, so no help there.

You can also find themed decks of cards for cheap at Michaels or Target for playing various games.

I've done a "ways to make 10" that could be holiday-themed.

Kids need a paper with 10 each of 5 different shapes (stars, circles...things that are easy to draw or available on the computer).

For each shape, they use two colors to show a different way to make 10. For example: 5 red stars and 5 green ones, 7 blue circles and 3 silver ones, etc.

We just glued them on paper in rows, but you could glue them on big green triangles - and they'd be Christmas ornaments on a tree.

I printed calanders and let them do a picture for every month. We talked about cardinal numbers and dates. We also touched on some science standards. Makes a great holiday gift for parents.
